On March 23rd I finally got married to my wife(!) Sarah. After about a year of planning it feels great to see our family and friends enjoy the hard work Sarah, her father and many others put into making this event special. I personally had the chance to design a few things, including the save-the-date, website, invitation and program which you can see below. I also created an illustration (above) for the portrait art show which included artwork from our family and friends. It’s been an amazing few days. Certainly one of the highlights of my life.

Ain’t That Good News – A Tribute to Sam Cooke
This is an album cover I illustrated for Potholes In My Blog’s tribute to Sam Cooke, a compilation of beats sampling his music. You can stream the music below. Also, smoking is bad.
Emay – Into It
This is an album cover for Emay’s Potholes Music debut Into It, a selection of beats made using samples pull from the music of Ramona Falls. For the artwork I decided to pull inspiration from the work of Theo Ellsworth who was responsble for the cover of Ramona Falls’ album “Intuit”.
Robot Soup
This is an album cover I illustrated for Potholes In My Blog’s Robot Soup, a compilation featuring instrumental tracks from the likes of James Pants, Suzi Analog, Kidkanevil and others. Those who donate $5 (which goes to charity in support of music education) will receive the 11×17 poster below.
Distant Arcade
This is the cover I designed for Potholes Music’s first artist compilation, Distant Arcade. You can download the compilation here.
Javis Faux – “Deal With It Vol. 2″
This is an album cover I created for Javis FauX’s “Deal With It Vol. 2″ for Potholes Music. It’s based off of the “deal with it” meme, but with Star Fox, obviously. Stream the album below.
Cosmic Island
This is my cover design for a new Potholes In My Blog beat compilation, Cosmic Island. It’s an island in space, obviously. You can download the compilation for free here and read more about it on Potholes.
Choongum – Fantasy
Here is an album cover I designed for Choongum’s first EP, Fantasy, on the recently-launched Potholes Music. Most of the inspiration for this piece came from the strange, alien landscapes that appear in René Laloux’s Fantastic Planet, one of my favorite animated films.
You can read more about Choongum and Fantasy at Potholes In My Blog. And if you have about an hour to waste, why not watch Fantastic Planet in full on YouTube?
Potholes Presents: Space Toast
Here is the ridiculous Rayforce/Sega Saturn-inspired artwork that I created for Potholes’ latest beat compilation. Rayforce (aka Gunlock aka Layer Section aka Galactic Attack) has been one of my favorite schmups for years so I felt this was the appropriate time to show my appreciation. You can download the compilation here.
Abjo – The Broken Synth Orchestra
Artwork for Abjo’s first release on Potholes Music. You can read more about it here.
Bone Burnisher: 2006-2009
I made the decision to consolidate all of my music from 2006 to 2009 into one album. You can download it on Bandcamp for free and listen below.
Tomorrow Archaic Logo
This is a logo I designed for Tomorrow Archaic, who’s website launched today with the release of Emay’s new album “Adam”. At the bottom of this post I included some other ideas we went through before coming to something we all agreed on.
Potholes 3.0
Here is my third redesign for Potholes In My Blog. This time I tried to make the site lightweight, fast and easy to navigate. Also used a lot of new techniques I’ve learned over the past year or so. I’m pretty happy with it. I included the two older designs for comparison.

After a small hiatus, I’ve finally found time to put together a new mix. There’s no real underlying theme here other than putting together some recent favorite tracks. I did unintentionally include a few songs that reference light in some way. Maybe it was a subconscious decision… This is also the first mix I’ve made in Logic Express as opposed to Garageband. I have to say it’s a huge improvement. Anyway, enjoy the mix and check the tracklist below.
- Austin Peralta - Epilogue: Renaissance Bubbles
- Kode9 – Black Sun (Partial Eclipse Version)
- FaltyDL - Brazil (Featuring Lily MacKenzie)
- Dorian Concept – Trilingual Dance Sexperience (Ogris Debris Relick)
- MONO/POLY – Forest Dark
- Bibio – Wake Up!
- Daedelus – enny Loafers
- Dimlite – Metal Snake Rider (Featuring Richard Eigner)
- Starkey – OK Luv
- Gil Scott-Heron & Jamie xx – The Crutch
- Taylor McFerrin – Awake To You
- Dego – Monday Blues
- Troubleman – Time Out Of Mind
- TAKE – Neon Beams (The Clonious Remix)
- Martyn – Vancouver
- Africa Hitech – Light The Way
Restyling
I decided to clean up my website. Not a complete redesign, but a restyling. I tried to make it a bit more professional and easier to focus on the images. If it doesn’t look like the above image, you made need to hard-refresh or clear your cache. Also, I recommend checking it out in Chrome or Safari as I’m trying out some new CSS3 tricks. If you don’t remember what it looked like before, see below.
